DESCRIPTION

Provide support to statisticians in production of summary tables, data listings and graphs required for the clinical development of Abgenix?s product candidates.

Oversee programming activities and coach junior SAS programmers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Process clinical data required for analysis of clinical trials for Phase I, II and III studies. Develop SAS coding and table templates for preparing, processing and analyzing clinical data.

Provide leadership to SAS programming personnel in production of summary tables, data listings and graphs required for trial report and clinical development.

Interact with members of product teams, statisticians and data management personnel to establish project timelines, computerize data validation checks and perform statistical analyses.

Participate in the lead task forces and new initiatives, while maintaining current knowledge of programming practices and development within the industry.

Develop and improve quality control and quality assurance processes.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor?s degree or equivalent in statistics, mathematics or computer science. Master?s degree in statistics or computer science preferred.

At least 6 years of relevant programming experiences in biotech or pharmaceutical industry, including experiences in multiple therapeutic areas and in various phases of drug development.

Must be able to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.

Demonstrated leadership quality and superior organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

In depth knowledge of the structure of clinical data and extensive experience in programming clinical data using SAS.
