BACKGROUND
One or two postdoctoral positions are now open for suitable applicants who are enthusiastic about playing a key role in the Laboratory for Bioinformatics and Medical Informatics at the University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson, TX (http://www.utdallas.edu/~yxl059100/).
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for post-docs interested in working on bioinformatics, medical informatics, chemical informatics, and/or biomedical literature mining projects. Potential projects are in areas of microarray and proteomic data analysis, data integration and visualization, gene function prediction, protein structure prediction, protein structure-function relationship prediction, and computer-aided drug design. The candidates will be working in a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative environment.
REQUIREMENTS
The qualified applicant will have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a Ph.D. in biological science and demonstrate experience in bioinformatics research. Good skills in software development and/or experience with machine learning techniques would be an asset. For all candidates, strong research and publication background is required.
COMPENSATION
The job positions are immediately available. Salary is commensurate with experience.
