FreeMOL is a compilation of free and open source programs forming a framework for computational chemistry, informatics, structural biology and graphics.

Update: December 30, 2008.

After languishing for years, the FreeMOL project is once again active. Hooray!

Current FreeMOL Components

• The Adaptive Poisson Boltzmann Solver (APBS) as permitted under its license.
• The PDB2PQR as permitted under its license.
• The Parallel Berkeley Encoder (mpeg_encode) as permitted under its license.
• The mengine module from ChemBioGrid (smi23d) as permitted under its license.

The following components are under consideration for the future:

• An IDTF to U3D Converter.
• A high-performance molecular dynamics package (for proteins, nucleic acids, small molecules, etc.)
• A basic cheminformatics capacity.
• A SMILES to 2D depiction engine.

Accessing FreeMOL Source Code

FreeMOL source code may be accessed via the Subversion repository.

A read-only copy of the repository can be checked out as follows:
