The term expression is used in bioinformatics to represent
'transcription'. An expression profile tells you what genes(ESTs)
were expressed or transcribed in a cell at a certain point in
time, under certain conditions. Microarrays capture expression
profiles. Databases : none so far, though stanford university has
some publicly available microarray datasets.
