Hi folks:

Sorry for the spamming (keeping it short). I put up some updated but
beta level versions of the cluster installation finishing scripts on our
servers.

The finishing scripts are basically a catch-all to run
post-installation scripts at first boot. There is a brief writeup on
our server at http://scalableinformatics.com/finishing/ . The
architecture of the scripting system has been redone from a single large
script, to a controlling program running scripts that it finds in a
directory. Similar in concept to the /etc/profile scripting done in
Linux distributions such as RedHat.

You can pull them from http://scalableinformatics.com/downloads . The
finishing scripts are neutral with respect to which method/distribution
you use for clusters. They fit in nicely with ROCKS (or others as
needed). You can write them in any language you chose, they don't need
to be scripts... they could be full fledged programs, etc. They are at
beta now, but will be at full release in short order. I wanted to give
people a chance to beat on them.

I should also have an updated set of notes on installing ROCKS 2.3 on
a cluster as well.

The build environments will be packaged and released as well, but it
is late, so it won't happen tonight. These are similar to the build
environments that some have been asking us to provide.

  Joe
