I have recently installed GrideEngine v5.3 on a RedHat Linux 7.3 Cluster. The install wasn't too bad, but here is what I am having difficulty with. I have followed the install guide and created the sgeadmin account and installed under this account. I am able to see all the nodes with appropriate parameters and I can submit the sleeper.sh job from either the sgeadmin or root account and they queue and execute correctly. Now here is where I run into several problems: 1. Other users (not root or sgeadmin) cannot correctly execute jobs. The appear in the queue and then some, not all of them, turn red and Error state. Some of the jobs actually make it to a queue (the number of the queue changes randomly) and execute. 2. None of the job output is returned to the master node, but rather remains on the slave node it was executed on. 3. Here is what I have tried: I read (only one line) in the manual that the slave nodes need to have the same user name that is on the master. I created users names on several of the slaves (maintaining the same UID and GID). This did not correct the problem. I am at a loss as to how to correct this issue. Thanks in advance for any help, Mark ------=_NextPart_000_002A_01C25D6D.76DB7EF0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <META HTTP-EQUIV=3D"Content-Type" CONTENT=3D"text/html; = charset=3Dus-ascii"> <META NAME=3D"Generator" CONTENT=3D"MS Exchange Server version = 6.0.4630.0"> <TITLE>Sun GrideEngine Help?</TITLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <!-- Converted from text/rtf format --> <P><FONT FACE=3D"Times New Roman">Hello,</FONT> <BR> <FONT FACE=3D"Times New = Roman">Hello, I hope someone here has some experience with Sun = GridEngine.
