My partner Bill Van Etten is giving a presentation at a BBLISA meeting on the MIT campus Wednesday evening that is open to the public. BBLISA ('Back Bay Large Installation System Administration') is a local boston-area forum for serious sysadmin and infrastructure types. They have a wide variety of speakers for their monthly gatherings covering all sorts of interesting topics. Bill will be talking about biology and bioinformatics -- the types of problems and how they are approached computationally (especially via clusters and distributed computing). I think he is also going to cover the IBT bioinformatics benchmarking suite as well. Given the BBLISA audience the talk may be a bit heavy on the intro-to-biology bits but will probably get quite technical pretty quickly. More info is online at http://www.bblisa.org/ Regards, Chris
