This is a very unique position for an individual who possesses a research scientist background and has SW development experience. We, Helicos Biosciences ; www.helicosbio.com  , are developing instruments for high-speed sequencing of DNA or RNA without amplification.  We achieve this by analyzing true single molecules.       Senior Software Engineer - High Performance Computing  
        We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement high performance, distributed, data parallel pipeline(s) to support the operation of our single molecule sequencing system. This individual will evaluate potential hardware configurations and design and implement the software on those configurations to perform complex signal processing and pattern matching tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience accelerating applications for a cluster environment. A BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Physics and 4+ years experience in the design and implementation of high performance algorithms for general purpose processors are required. Experience using agile software development practices and experience with Multi-processor computing environments and methodologies such as Sun Grid Engine, MPI, and Condor are desirable.
