Here's a nice set of Nautilus (Gnome file manager) screenshots:

The plugins are interesting.  It seems that when you hit a certain directory,
Nautilus can switch to a plugin for managing the contents.  Look at the music
plugin, for an example.  I wonder if Pied/Piper can work within Nautilus in
such a fashion.  The user can browse to a Piper directory and then have Pied
show up for working with the contents.  Hmm.
