Forerunners:
Protein Explorer was the forerunner to FirstGlance in Jmol. Protein Explorer was first available in 1998, and was widely used for a decade, before several factors rendered it obsolete.

Evolution of FirstGlance:
Below are snapshots of the Front Door of FirstGlance going back to its inception in 2005. Only the 15 versions with substantial changes to the Front Door are pictured. A total of 36 new versions, each with substantial enhancements, were released during this 21-year span of time.
