    Too Bad

    Too bad they didn't do this 5+ years ago, when it might have made a difference.

    Submitter Anyone at that point would have been stunned to learn how few systems actually ended up using Itanium. Rumors of the day were that SPARC, PPC, MIPS, etc. would all be abandoned for the superior "Merced" chip to come. What a difference 5 years make.
