[Bioclusters] PVFS on big clusters

Afternoon All,
    I am looking at taking some of the unused disk on our cluster and creating a
PVFS filesystem out of it.  Has anyone here played with using disk on the compute
nodes as a parallel file-system, and does anyone have any knowledge of how it works
on large ( < 50 node ) clusters?
