This is a known problem... The execd tries to close the first 3 fd (0, 1, 2). This is common for all daemons on Unix, but for some reasons when you do this during startup on OSX, it fails... Chris said he will work with Apple on this... you can search the archives of this mailing list and the sge "users" and "dev" mailing list for details: http://gridengine.sunsource.net/project/gridengine/maillist.html If you want to try, you can comment out the line that close()s the first 3 fds... but you will need to compile from source.
