Not to be a fly in the ointment, but keep in mind that these 'gurus' that you talk about are quite busy, supporting all the research that allows them to create the algorithms. Moderating/editing a list isn't something that you can assume they have time to do. The fact that they came up with these great algorithms, and have shared them, is awesome, and they might want advisory participation, but be ready to do lots of work yourself (and good work it would be!) If they do want to do this, that is great, but if they can't, this idea can still happen but might require other means... -Mat -----Original Message----- From: Malay Kumar Basu [mailto:curiouser at ccmb.res.in] Sent: Thursday, March 13, 2003 7:08 PM To: biodevelopers at bioinformatics.org Subject: Re: [Biodevelopers] Proposal for creation of algorithm repository Hi Jeff: Here what I have in my mind. We would talk to few Gurus in the field and ask them to be the "editors/moderators" of the repository. That would help in winning trust of the people. I want it to happen. And I want it to happen it big. And the only way we can make it happen is to give people the confidence that we mean business, and we are serious. What do you think?
