These problems stem from inadequate Java/JavaScript/LiveConnect support on
MacOSX. The issues are not specific to Jmol, but affect all applets.

IE Mac OSX will never be supported (a number of issues)

Firefox can be made to work, but requires special configuration ... not
for the faint of heart. (Apple has not provided adequate support for Java
developers).
