Many firms have  large inhouse secretarial and clerical NT boxes.
Lucent a while ago implemented a process-freezing software
for NT which allows a program and its data to be moved
across an available network and find unoccupied machines.

(The other approach is cooperating machines continuing
to use intermediate results but spawning new processes)

Has anybody tried Lucent's  ?
