Two serious bugs in Protein Explorer 2.71 Alpha have been fixed: - The "Save View" dialog was unable to produce the .spt file format in Netscape 4 (Windows or Mac), or in IE (but able to do so in the Gecko browsers). It now offers the command script in both PiPE and .spt formats in all five supported browsers. - The instructions for building PiPEs contained a serious omission. Two new steps have been inserted (now steps 20, 21). In addition, the "New View from File" dialog now accepts either PiPE-formatted or .spt file-formatted command scripts. Also a new paragraph was added to the PiPEs Reference Manual explaining more clearly what the "PiPE block" is. PE 2.71 Alpha is on-line at proteinexplorer.org (click the magenta link to the Alpha version near the top of the FrontDoor), and at UMass. It is downloadable for Windows, but the downloadable Unstuffer for Macs is not yet available. /* - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Protein Explorer - 3D Visualization: http://proteinexplorer.org Workshops: http://www.umass.edu/molvis/workshop Biochem Structure Tutorials http://MolviZ.org World Index of Molecular Visualization Resources: http://molvisindex.org ConSurf - Find Conserved Patches in Proteins: http://consurf.tau.ac.il Atlas of Macromolecules: http://molvis.sdsc.edu/atlas/atlas.htm PDB Lite Macromolecule Finder: http://pdblite.org Molecular Visualization EMail List (molvis-list): http://bioinformatics.org/mailman/listinfo/molvis-list Eric Martz, Professor Emeritus, Dept Microbiology U Mass, Amherst MA US 413-545-2325/FAX 413-545-2532 http://www.umass.edu/molvis/martz - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - */
