A Jmol-based tutorial on the Lac Repressor has been available at
http://Proteopedia.Org since October, 2008. Belatedly, it has now
been linked to http://MolviZ.Org.

This tutorial features a morph of the lac repressor bending DNA as
binding changes from non-specific to specific recognition of the
operator sequence. One scene of the morph shows the formation of
hydrogen bonds involved in specific recognition of DNA sequence.

It also includes 9 questions to challenge your understanding.

The tutorial includes a "true movie" (animated GIF) of the morph that
can easily be pasted into a Powerpoint slide, where it will animate
when projected.

The morph was originally released in a Chime-based website in 2004,
as part of the (now defunct) Protein Explorer.
