Opportunity: REANNOUNCEMENT -- Postdoc Position in Immunoinformatics, Machine Learning and Proteomics @ University of Southern Denmark -- Odense, Denmark
Submitted by Signatur AS; posted on Friday, August 19, 2022

    DESCRIPTION

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Southern Denmark invite applications for a postdoctoral fellowship within the field of bioinformatics to be filled as soon as possible, earliest by 1 October 2022, for a period of one year, extendible for another year.

The selected candidate will develop a proof of concept framework for detecting disease-specific antibodies in proteomics datasets. More specifically, the research project entails the analysis of millions of B-cell receptor sequences by machine learning to determine relevant antibody peptides for detection in proteomics datasets. These peptides will be confirmed by re-searching public and in-house proteomics data using modern identification algorithms.

We are seeking outstanding candidates with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, who are strong in written and oral communication (in English) and have documented experience in machine learning (in particular deep learning) and bioinformatics. Expertise in handling and understanding protein mass spectrometry data is an advantage, but not a requirement. The successful candidate will participate in independent research projects and assist in the supervision of undergraduate students.

Please see the full call, including how to apply, on http://www.sdu.dk.
