Installation

• Debian / Ubuntu


• Prior to launch pyAnnHyb you must install all dependencies (if not already installed):
  
  
  • Biopython version >= 1.49
    
    
    • If you are using Ubuntu >= 9.04 the biopython package version is >= 1.49:

    sudo apt-get install python-biopython

    • If you are using Ubuntu < 9.04 or Debian you must follow this procedure:
    
    Remove Biopython if already installed: sudo apt-get remove python-biopython.
    Open a terminal and type this commands:

    cd /tmp
    wget http://biopython.org/DIST/biopython-1.50.tar.gz
    tar xvfz biopython-1.50.tar.gz
    cd biopython-1.50
    python setup.py build
    python setup.py test
    sudo python setup.py install
    

    If you encounter some problems, check the Biopython web site.
    
    
  • Python Qt4

    sudo apt-get install python-qt4

wget -c http://www.bioinformatics.org/annhyb/pyannhyb/PyAnnHyb-VERSION.tar.bz2
tar xvfj http://www.bioinformatics.org/annhyb/pyannhyb/PyAnnHyb-VERSION.tar.bz2
cd pyannhyb
chmod +x pyannhyb.py

• Install all dependencies (see above)


• Install pyAnnHyb

• Microsoft-Windows




• There are two ways to install pyAnnHyb under Microsoft-Windows.


• Using the automatic installer (easy way without administration privileges)
  
  
  
  • Download automatic installer above
  
  
  • Launch the installer
  (it is not necessary to have administration privileges to install the program. In this case, choose a directory like "My Documents")
  
  
  • Launch PyAnnHyb using the Start / Programs / pyAnnHyb menu
  
  
• Installing all packages that are required (expert way with administration privileges)
  
  
  
  • Install current version of Python for Windows (http://www.python.org/download/)
  
  
  • Install PyQt4 for Windows (http://www.riverbankcomputing.co.uk/software/pyqt/download)
  
  
  • Install last Biopython version >=1.50 (http://www.biopython.org/wiki/Download)
  
  
  • Download the pyAnnHyb archive
  
  
  • Extract the archive (http://www.7-zip.org)
  
  
  • Launch pyannhyb.py (double-click or enter)
